After-School Club Bus Pickup Capacity Control

We have introduced a new Walking Bus feature to make school collections safer and easier to manage. It gives after-school and wraparound care providers clear control over bus pickup capacity, staffing and collection registers.

Control capacity for every walking bus

Each walking bus can have its own capacity. This helps prevent too many children being assigned to one group and ensures there are enough staff to supervise the journey.

Walking Bus capacity is managed separately from the club’s capacity, so children are counted correctly both while being collected and once they arrive at the club.

Clear school pickup registers for staff

The pickup register gives staff a clear list of the children they need to collect, including their school and assigned walking bus. Staff can quickly see who is expected, record each child as collected and identify anyone who is absent or has not yet been accounted for.

No change to the parent booking process

Parents continue to book in the usual way. Where a Walking Bus is available, the system manages the available places and includes the child on the appropriate pickup register.
