Not only does wraparound care assist the parent during their working week research by NatCen has shown that taking part in organised sports and participating in holiday and afterschool clubs can help improve the child’s academic performance as well as their social skills.

Research has also shown that disadvantaged children who attended afterschool clubs progressed better than their peers who hadn’t taken part in similar clubs. Overall if children can be encouraged to partake in any organised sports and physical activities they will have better social, behavioural and emotional skills.
