Important Update: Changes to the Pre-Bookings Option

We’ve updated how the Pre-Bookings setting works, so it’s important to understand the new behaviour to ensure parents can access the correct booking options.

There are three standard booking modes, or four if you have contracts enabled. The key point is: if Pre-Bookings is set to Yes, then only administrators (while masquerading as a parent) can make bookings.

Here’s how the combinations now behave:

Pre-Bookings: Yes → Admin only (masquerading)

Pre-Bookings: Yes + Adhoc: Yes → Admin only (masquerading)

Pre-Bookings: Yes + Contract: Yes → Admin only (masquerading)

Adhoc: Yes → Parents & Admin (masquerading)

Contract: Yes → Parents & Admin (masquerading)

Preferred: Yes → Only parents marked as “Preferred" can book

If you rely on parents making their own bookings, please ensure Pre-Bookings is disabled, or the correct booking type is selected.
